God, I humble myself under Your mighty hand, that You may exalt me in due time: casting all of my care upon You; for You care for me. 1 Peter 5:6-7

It may seem absurd
to see care as hurtful
not what you've thought
not what you've heard

At such a great toll
Your peace is stolen
A spirit ungodly (15)
and bad for the soul (14)

To draw Satan (2) near
just choose to take care
in care there is worry (16)
in care there is fear (16)

"Take care", cheerily
"Take care", I have heard
But I will obey You
Care's not for me! (6)

You surely will do
what You swore in Your Word
To take care of me
As I cast care on You (6)

I've been set free (4).
In mind and in spirit
This truth (5) You do work
To make real to me.

I'll obey what You said
Not just but hear You
I'm careful for naught (1).
and free from all dread (1)

Joy is so free
Care is so binding;
I resist (3) all oppression
that comes against me.

Your Word's like a seed (10);
Full of Your power (9).
Mixed with my faith (11)
It'll meet all my need

So "innocently";
Care has the "power"
to choke and to thwart
all Your Word that's in me. (12)

What comes to my mind
those thoughts I'll examine
I'll take (7) what is right;
Leave others behind.

I surely will be (8).
What I think in my heart
I think thoughts of freedom!
I think liberty!

In my life what I see
If care I will cast it.
I am free from all burden
Light and carefree!

With heart, mind, and soul (13);
I'll love and I'll serve You
I'll do this each day
I'll give you my all.

I'll cast cares on You
I will not retain them.
I won't be brought down.
I won't be made blue.

One thing I will do;
With all of my cares
Cry out with great fervor:
On You, Lord! On You!

(1) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

(2) For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. Job 3:25
(2) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

(3) Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

(4) Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Gal 5:1

(5) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13

(6) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

(7) Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Mat 6:31-33

(8) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Pr 23:7

(9) who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Heb 1:3

(10) "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11

(11) For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. Heb 4:2

(12) and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. Mark 4:19

(13) And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. Mark 12:30

(14) For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." Rom 8:15
(14) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 Jn 4:18
(14) And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deu 31:8
(14) Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' Isaiah 41:10
(14) The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread. Isaiah 8:13

(15) For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Tim 1:7

(16) Care: (1) a state of mind in which one is troubled; worry, anxiety, or concern. (2) a cause or object of worry, anxiety, concern.
Worry: to torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret.
Anxiety: distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune.
