SIN

WHO DETERMINED WHAT IS SIN?
God.

HOW DID HE MAKE IT KNOWN?
Through His Law.

WHO COMMITTED THE FIRST SIN?
Adam.
Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, because all men sinned. Sin was in the world before ever the Law was given, but sin is not charged to men's account where there is no law. Yet death held sway from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not themselves transgress as Adam did. Adam was a type of the One Who was to come. Rom 5:12-14

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 1 Cor 15:22

WHY IS GOD SO STRONG AGAINST SIN?
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23

THE EFFECT OF SIN?
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Isaiah 59:2

THE CURSE OF THE LAW
But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: Deu 28:15

Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the LORD bring upon you until you are destroyed. Deu 28:61

FREED FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree. Gal 3:13

WHAT WAS GOD'S SOLUTION FOR SIN?
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Cor 5:21

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Gal 4:4,5

SO LOVED
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

THE GOODNESS OF GOD
I will not be so blind as to trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of Your kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience. I will not be unmindful or actually ignorant of the fact that Your kindness is intended to lead me to repent.(Amplified Bible) Rom 2:4

GRACE
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:14

I will not question, contradict, ignore, or deflect Your Word.

Questioning
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden"? Gen 3:1

Contradicting
Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Gen 3:4-5

Ignoring
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Gen 3:6

Deflecting
And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." Gen 3:11-13

CONTINUE IN SIN?
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Rom 5:20-21;6:1

THE MERCIES OF GOD
It is by Your mercies that I am not consumed. Your compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness. Lam 3:22-23

YIELDING
To whom I present myself, as a slave for obedience, I am a slave of the one whom I obey; either of sin resulting in death; or of obedience resulting in righteousness. Rom 6:16

AGAINST YOU ONLY
Against You only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in Your sight; so that You are justified when You speak; and blameless when You judge. Ps 51:4

EYES
I will set no wicked, or worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away. It shall not fasten its grip on me. Ps 101:3

SINS OF THE FATHERS
....You visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate You.. Ex 20:5

HARDNESS OF HEART
You are wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against You, and has prospered? Job 9:4

REBELLION AND STUBBORNNESS
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 1 Sam 15:23

LUSTS
I am drawn away of my own lusts and enticed. James 1:14

SOWING TO THE FLESH
If I sow to the flesh, of the flesh I will reap corruption. If I sow to the spirit, of the spirit I will reap life everlasting. Gal 6:8

CARNALLY MINDED
To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:6

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN
I will not lightly esteem the hardening of heart that comes through the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:13

JESUS WAS TEMPTED
You suffered being tempted, and you can come to my aid when I am tempted. Heb 2:18

WATCH AND PRAY
I will watch and pray that I enter not into temptation; for my spirit is willing; but my flesh is weak. Mat 26:41

I submit myself to You, God. I resist the devil, and he will flee from me. I draw near to You, and You will draw near to me. I cleanse my hands; and purify my heart, from being double minded. James 4:7-8

LOATHING EVIL
I will let my love be without hypocrisy. I will loathe what is evil; and will cleave to what is good. Rom 12:9

I purify my soul in obeying the truth through the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Pet 1:22

WITHHOLD
You will withhold no good thing from me as I walk upright before You. Psalm 84:11

WILLING AND OBEDIENT
I am willing and obedient and I shall eat the good of the land.

ADVERSARY
I resist Satan, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by my brotherhood in the world.

NO PLACE
I will leave no place, or foothold for the devil. Eph 4:27

Lord, You will light my lamp. You will illumine my darkness. Ps 18:28

MORTIFICATION
To die is to live after my flesh; but thru Your power, Holy Spirit, I mortify the deeds of my body; and live. Rom 8:13

I put on You Lord Jesus Christ; and I make no provision for my flesh; to fulfill the lusts thereof. Rom 13:14

Having Your promises, I cleanse myself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit; perfecting holiness in the fear of You. 2 Cor 7:1

I will walk in the Spirit, and I will not fulfill the lust of my flesh. Gal 5:16

I abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against my soul. 1 Pet 2:11

DEAD TO SIN
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Rom 6:11-12

ESCAPE FROM TEMPTATION
God, You are faithful. You will not allow any temptation or trial to come against me that is not common to man. You always provide a way of escape for me, so that I may be able to endure the temptation; resist it; and not enter into it.
1 Cor 10:13

TRIED FAITH = PATIENCE
I consider it joyful whenever I encounter trials of any sort; or fall into various temptations. I understand that the trying of my faith brings out patience. I let patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that I may be perfectly and fully developed; lacking in nothing. James 1:2,3,4

I, who am called by Your name, humble myself; and pray; and seek Your face; and turn from my wicked ways. You will hear from heaven. You will forgive my sin. You will heal my land.
2 Chr 7:14

Temptation is a surety...
